Grade 7 Science Teacher – 1.0 FTE 

Mohawk Trail Regional School is currently seeking a Certified Science educator to teach Grade 7 NGSS Standards in Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will:

• Have an appreciation of the strengths and needs of the middle school child.
• Have a  commitment to equity, inclusion, and restorative practices 
• Commit to working in a middle school team model, including regular collaboration with team members to support all students in the grade level, develop community activities, and to enhance interdisciplinary curricular connections
• Have experience or interest in using the Open Sci Ed (OSE)curriculum, and will participate in related professional development.  The 7th grade curriculum is OSE, and the successful candidate will commit to participating in all activities related to a 3-year grant program to support full implementation of the curriculum, including: annual summer institutes, professional development days during the school year, collaborative planning sessions with the 8th grade teacher and building leaders, and implementation coaching sessions.
• Have experience in differentiating instruction within the classroom to allow all learners to be successful
• Have an interest in continuing to develop outdoor classroom practices and utilize our unique setting 
• Recognize the importance of promoting cross-curricular and “real-life” connections.
• Collaborate with the Grade 7 & 8 teachers to provide students with a personalized Advisory experience
• Use data to support pedagogy
• In addition to teaching, take on the role of Advisor to a group of 10-12 students and help support Student-Led-Conferences twice a year
• Salary Range: $47,795 to 83,519
